Our questions about the Solar System

We have been learning about the Solar System. We all had to think about what sort of things we wanted to find out. Mr Wadsworth came into our class and did some filming with us.  Here is the finished result.

Room 3 Poems

We have been learning how to say a short poem to an audience. We all stood up in front of our class and said a poem, while Miss Gill videoed us on the i-pad. Here are our videos:

Our visit to the Life Education truck

On Monday we noticed that 'Harold' was at school. We were so excited to get to visit him, but .... guess what?  We had to wait until Friday for our first visit!!

Here we are waiting for Teresa to let us come up into the mobile classroom.

Harold and Teresa had lots to teach us about 'Being a good friend'. 

Here we are learning about some of our different feelings. We used some of the characters from 'Inside Out' to help us.....

then we had a dance party with our friends.

We loved our trip to see Harold and can't wait for his next visit to Winton School.

We are a Firewise bunch.

We have been learning about different types of fires and how to keep ourselves safe around fires.

We had Mrs Bull, from the Fire Service come to visit us.  She read us a story and showed us some pictures of what firefighters do.  In this photo you can see the special gear she has to wear when she goes out fighting fires.

We learnt what we need to do if there is a fire in a building we are in.  You have to: GET OUT AND STAY OUT.

If there is smoke in the room, you have to: GET DOWN, GET LOW AND GET OUT FAST.  Here we are practising getting down low to crawl out, when there is smoke in the room.

In the poster that Kamryn is holding, we can see lots of different types of fires.

We enjoyed learning about how to be 'Firewise'.

Getting two new i-pads for our school

We were really excited last Friday when Mr Wadsworth and Mr Cooper came over to our classroom with two new i-pads for Winton School.  Here we all are, with Mr Cooper and the new i-pads.  Thanks very much, Mr Cooper.

Mufti day and 'You're an egg' day

 Lots of us had 'egg on our faces' on mufti day!!  Mr Tucker came down to see the Room 3 'make-up artists and get his faced painted too.  What do you think of us all?

Dress Up day

 On Friday the 27th of March we had a dress up day at Winton School.  It was the end of our 'Sir Read-Alot Book Fair Week and we could dress up as Kings, Queens, Princesses, Princes or somebody else related to castles.  We had a great day!!

 Here we are getting stuck into our own writing during 'Writer's workshop' time.

 We have all written about our dress up day and are going to get our stories published and put up on the wall in our classroom.  We loved the parade around the tennis court.

Make sure you come on in and read our stories.  We love to have people come in and read our work, by the Room 3 authors.

Clay Sculptures

Eden and Paige went to an art workshop at the Southland museum.  They looked at the sculptures in the museum then were able to make their own clay sculptures.

Here are our room 3 artists with their finished products!!  Well done, girls.

Reading with our 'Big Buddies'.

We love having our 'big buddies' come to visit us on Friday mornings.  Here are Paige, Izzy, Alice and Esmee reading with their buddies.

Our 'big buddies' are in Mr Chapman's class.  Mr Chapman was reading with Jordis.

Meet the children from Room 3 for 2015

Hi, we are the happy, bubbly bunch of girls from Room 3.  We love meeting up with our Room 11 big buddies on Friday mornings and going to the library on Wednesday afternoons.
